Assistant Dean of University College
David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies from St. Joseph’s College, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Vermont. As a first-generation student raised in a blended family with five sisters and one brother, David understands the challenges and opportunities faced by underrepresented higher-education students.
With over 15 years of experience in higher education, David is deeply committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment that respects and celebrates diversity. His research interests include first-generation students, distance education, academic advising, leadership, collaboration, and growth mindset.
In addition to his administrative work, David teaches in American Studies and the LEADS Undergraduate Certificate program, offering courses such as The Art of Collaboration, Innovative Thinking and Problem-Solving, Emotional Intelligence: Leadership & Success, and Exploring American Leadership.
In his free time, David enjoys volunteering, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with his husband, Rodman, and their dog, Gracie. Guided by the philosophy of being part of the solution, not the problem, David is dedicated to fostering growth, leadership, and academic success for all students.
