LeeFredrick Bowen

Fred joined UNC Charlotte and the University College in April 2013.  Before working at UNC Charlotte, Fred worked as an Academic Advisor for the Thomas Harriott College of Arts and Sciences at East Carolina University for over two years. He worked as an Admissions Counselor at the Undergraduate Office of Admissions at ECU for over four years. He became the Director of Software Systems in 2016.  

Fred earned his B.A. in English in 2003 and then his M.A. in English in 2010 from ECU.  Fred enjoys movies, theatre, and writing.  He focuses his writing on multiple areas of creative writing. He enjoys biking/running and ran his first half-marathon in 2019. He is also a major Star Trek fan.  Fred’s goal is to continue effectively impacting student success by assisting them in their educational and career goals.
